There has recently been a discussion in the comp.lang.c++ newsgroup
bemoaning the fact that Microsoft do not supply any kind of official
support for Microsoft programming languages (in particular C7) via an
Internet mailing address, mailing list or newsgroup.

They DO provide support on Compuserve, but Compuserve does not have the
same worldwide, free access as the Internet.

I wonder if it would be possible and worthwhile to lobby the powers
that be in Microsoft to provide an official support email address.

Particularly in view of the fact that it is possible to send email between
Compuserve and the Internet. An also, of course, the fact that Microsoft
is already connected directly to the Internet itself.

I am therefore conducting a poll of Microsoft compiler users who are
connected to the Internet.

If you are a Microsoft compiler user, and you feel that Microsoft should
provide at least _some_ official support on the Internet, please send me
a SHORT email message to "MSCYES@trmphrst.demon.co.uk".

If you hold the opposing view, send to "MSCNO@trmphrst.demon.co.uk".

I will summarise the result to the net (and, if there are enough positive
replies, to Microsoft).

Please keep your messages as short as possible.
